The following are assignments that I personally believe are my best works done during my time at ACLC.

For my last Science Fair project, I experimented with sowbugs in my own backyard and seeing if temperature affected the rate of disease spread. It won first place in the ACLC science fair, and was featured in the Alameda County Science Fair. Despite not placing in the Fair, I rank it very high among my list of academic acheivements. This is the poem I wrote for our Beat Generation assignment. I consider it to be one of the better poems I have written at ACLC.

Poem 'bout 'murica

I've seen what you've done America

Pestering the grocery stores and their farmers

Marketing your whims

But does your ego let you puke?

America I know you bring the sword of justice

I see the relentless decapitation of your young men

Who drink your kool-aid and peach soda

Then ask for forgiveness

Oh look over there America!

See what you did with the wall?

Portraying the law as the binds

You get to say justice is right, I get to say justice is done

Turn the page America

The sands of time for you are running low

Marble hornets are all you have left

and that casual stranger on the street who wants nothing to do with you

Who knows?

Is that stranger...You?

Last but not least, my other best assignment was for Honors English. We had to watch a movie and then write an essay about some of the film techniques used. I watched Die Hard, and that proved to be a very good subject for this assignment. It was a great essay that I did well on and enjoyed writing.
